Your Strengths Will Trump Your Weaknesses
I want to lose weight.
I want to stop losing my temper.
I want to stop drinking soda.
These are ideal goals, wouldn’t you agree? So how can you realize these behavior changes?
Focus on your strengths. It’s not the natural way of thinking. We humans tend to approach life changes by first naming the weakness rather than the strength. We are afraid to shine. Shifting your perspective from the weakness to the strength will give you more energy to realize weight loss, slower tempers and a desire to drink water or cold pressed juices.
Those who approach change by using their strengths are: happier & healthier, more confident, have higher self-esteem, experience less stress, are more resilient, and perform better at work.
Not sure how to find your personal strengths so that you can shift your focus?
Try to answer the following questions:
What is on your resume highlighting your skills?
If you were stuck on a boat for a year and could only take two things, what would they be?
What is your best success in life and what did you do to realize that?
Answering these questions can allow you to be mindful of your strengths and then you can be mindful of how to glean more success from your strengths.
